Beginning 1 November 2012, the Communications of the Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society (CKMS) receives papers only through the Electronic Editorial System via https://ckms.kms.kr/submission, except for very special circumstances that the CKMS recognizes. This website explains the standard submission process in steps. The system will ask the author(s) to upload the PDF file of the paper. The LaTeX source-file(s) will be needed after the submitted paper has been accepted for publication in the CKMS.
The TeX source-file should be prepared in a LaTeX format (all styles are acceptable). Other formats are accepted also; however the conversion process by the CKMS may result in 3 to 5 month delay in the printing process. The first page of the manuscript must include (1) the title that is concise but descriptive and informative, (2) the precise authorship (full names preferred), (3) the abstract, not exceeding 300 words, (4) 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification following the annual index of the Mathematical Reviews, and (5) a list of key words and/or phrases. Affiliation, mailing address, and/or email address of each author should be included at the end of the manuscript. The items in the reference section should be ordered according to the alphabetical order of the family names of the authors and numbered numerically as [1], [2],…. Figures and graphics, if included, should be prepared suitable for photographic reproduction. The CKMS prefers graphics produced electronically and compiled in the EPS format.
The CKMS advises the author(s) to retain the LaTeX source-file and any other related files, until the publication process is completed. The CKMS may require the source-file(s) as soon as the submitted paper(s) are accepted for publication in the CKMS.
The journals of the Korean Mathematical Society require to list authors' surnames in alphabetical order. The use of alphabetical authorship is most common in mathematics. By the unique nature of mathematics, the Society does not consider the concept of the first author in mathematical papers, and the Society does not infer about the relative contribution made by the different authors of a publication.
Moreover, any author who has provided her or his email address in the paper is regarded as a corresponding author.
(1) The reviewing process is set to 60 days in principle.
(2) Peer review is conducted through the Electronic Editorial System.
(3) After reviews from Reviewers are submitted, the Managing Editor will make a final decision, after which the author will be notified.
(4) Additionally, papers approved for publication will be examined on the grounds of Research Ethics, after which the author will be notified.
The submitted research should be original, has not been published previously and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors who violate research ethics(plagiarism, duplicate publication, etc.) may be restricted from further submissions to the KMS Journals for some period of time. Please refer to the "Code of Ethics" for details.
Authors will receive only one set of proofs for correction. No alterations or corrections beyond corrections on minor typographic errors will normally be accepted once the set of proofs is issued.
Papers selected for publication in CKMS are subject to page charges. For international authors, it will be charged 20 USD for each printed page if the research was funded; otherwise, the publication charge will be waived. For domestic authors, it will be charged 20,000 Won per page if the research was funded; otherwise, 10,000 Won per page will be charged.(Before 2018)
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society (CKMS) would welcome the financial support from the authors for its continuous enhancement. For international authors, the publication charge is waived; however, we would appreciate their support from the authors with research fund of 20 USD for each printed page. For domestic authors, the publication charge is 30,000 won per page if they have research fund; otherwise, 10,000 won per page. (This applies to the submitted papers in 2018 and after.)
The Korean Mathematical Society announces a change in offprint delivery method for KMS journals. The existing method of delivering paper offprints will be replaced with an electronic delivery in an effort to protect the environment by reducing carbon footprint and to provide authors with permanent access to their articles.
Beginning with the January 2011 issue, only electronic offprints will be available free of charge in PDF format that are printable and downloadable from "My Manuscript" on the online submission system, and no paper offprints will be made available.
Correspondences regarding submitted paper(s) that has been accepted for publication in the CKMS should be directed to:
